A suspect was wounded in Azusa on Thursday in a deputy-involved shooting at the end of a car chase, authorities said.

No deputies were injured in the shooting, which happened at about 6 p.m. at the intersection of Citrus and Alosta avenues, according to Deputy Diane Hecht of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau.

Los Angeles County Fire Department Dispatch Supervisor Art Marrujo said one gunshot patient was airlifted to County-USC Medical Center from the scene, where a pursuit ended.

An Azusa police dispatcher said the suspect was chased into the city by deputies from the sheriff’s San Dimas station.
