The crash on the eastbound side of the freeway, just east of Encino Avenue occurred at 3:16 a.m when a vehicle — possibly a white Toyota, veer off the freeway and went 20 feet up an embankment, said California Highway Patrol Officer Alex Rubio.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene, said Rubio, adding it was not immediately known whether there were any other occupants inside the car.
