Union Pacific Railroad authorities have been asked to check a stretch of line in Pico Rivera after a bridge fire early Wednesday.
The fire occurred near the intersection of East Beverly Boulevard and Manning Road around 1:05 a.m. and took 14 minutes to knock down, Los Angeles County Fire Department Supervising Dispatcher Michael Pittman said.
Pittman said there was no apparent damage to the bridge or railroad, but firefighters were waiting for Union Pacific to check the integrity of its equipment.
What sparked the fire was not immediately determined.
