A man and woman in their late 70s to early 80s were found dead in their Glendale home Sunday and police said they were the victims of homicide.

Glendale police got a call about 9:30 a.m. from a family member concerned about not hearing from the residents of a home in the 600 block of Alexander Street, Glendale police Sgt. Robert William said.

Officers found the door to the home open, went inside and found the bodies, William said.

They were determined to be the victims of a double homicide and at that point, investigators backed out and got a search warrant for the premises, William said.

Coroner’s personnel were summoned to make positive identifications and investigate each victim’s cause, manner and time of death, William said.

The investigation was in a preliminary stage, he said.
