A motel in Van Nuys was evacuated Sunday as a bomb squad investigated a possible grenade found in one of the rooms, police said.
At 3:15 p.m., officers headed to one of the rooms of the La Posada Motel at 7615 Sepulveda Blvd. in response to a domestic disturbance between a man and a woman and found a possible grenade at the scene, Los Angeles Police Department Officer Mike Lopez said.
The motel, neighboring businesses and some residents were evacuated and a bomb squad was dispatched to the scene to determine if the device was a live explosive, Lopez said.
NBC4 reports the bomb squad blew up the device and the scene was given an all-clear as of 7:20 p.m.
