Three young men and a 16-year-old boy were arrested for their alleged involvement in a Manhattan Beach burglary, police reported Monday.

On Friday morning, police spotted two of the suspects — one of them was toting a single piece of luggage — walking in the 200 block of Harkness Street. He dropped the bag when the officers approached and both began running, according to a Manhattan Beach police statement.

A foot pursuit ensued, and after a perimeter was set up, one of the suspects was found in the 1800 block of Eighth Street while the other fled across Aviation Boulevard and into Redondo Beach.

With the help of several other local police departments, officers searched for the second suspect, who was found at 2:45 p.m. in Anderson Park in Redondo Beach.

During the pursuit, two other suspects allegedly involved in the burglary were located at Second Street and Aviation Boulevard and taken into custody, police said.

The luggage had been stolen from a home in the 1800 block of Third Street just before the first suspects were seen on Harkness Street, investigators said.

The arrestees were identified as Richard Bernard, 20, of Los Angeles; Omar Bright, 18, of Los Angeles; Joshua Matthews, 20, of Culver City; and a 16- year-old boy from Los Angeles, whose name was withheld.
