A person was detained for questioning today following a non-injury explosion at an apartment building in the Koreatown area, which shattered windows and triggered some evacuations.
Firefighters and police were sent to the 300 block of South Ardmore Avenue shortly before 9 a.m. Some evacuations were ordered as a precaution, and one person was detained for questioning, according to the LAPD.
Officer Jane Kim of the Media Relations Section said this afternoon that investigators were “looking into the possibility the explosion was related to narcotics, but that has not been confirmed yet.”
As of this afternoon, the person who was detained had yet to be interviewed, she said.
