An overnight driver’s license/sobriety checkpoint in Lancaster netted 17 arrests this weekend, according to the Sheriff’s Department.
The checkpoint at Avenue L and 27th Street West began at 6 p.m. Friday and ended Saturday at 2 a.m., according to a news statement from the L.A. Sheriff’s Department.
Eight motorists driving with suspended licenses were arrested and sent to court, one person was arrested for allowing an unlicensed motorist to drive their vehicle and eight unlicensed drivers were arrested and sent to court during the checkpoint, according to the news statement.
Eight vehicles were impounded for 30 days and one vehicle was stored for one day as a result of the checkpoint.
