A man was wedged beneath an elevator at UCLA.

The unidentified victim became stuck between the ground floor and the floor below in Building 68 before 10 p.m., Tuesday, said Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The victim was freed within 10 minutes, Stewart said. He was hospitalized in fair condition.

No further details were yet available. Authorities did not explain how the victim managed to be below the elevator.
