A section of the Angeles Crest Highway east of La Canada Flintridge that was closed due to storm-caused rockslides and roadway damage was reopened Wednesday.
The 18.3-mile stretch of the highway, which is also known as state Route 2, had been closed between Islip Saddle at the intersection of state routes 2 and 39 and Big Pines, Caltrans spokesman Patrick Chandler said.
The road was expected to remain closed until early August, but the repair work was completed early and the stretch reopened at about 1:30 p.m., Chandler said.
