Authorities Thursday identified a pedestrian who was struck and killed by a pickup truck in the Compton area.
The victim, 31-year-old Adalberto Rodriguez, was hit about 9 p.m. Wednesday in the 4200 block of East Compton Boulevard, the California Highway Patrol said.
Rodriguez died at the scene, coroner’s Chief Ed Winter said. Rodriguez’ home town was not known.
The driver of the pickup remained at the scene, according to the CHP.
