A woman’s death under suspicious circumstances prompted a police investigation at a home in Long Beach on Sunday.
Officers were dispatched about 7 a.m. to a home in the 6700 block of Olive Avenue regarding what was believed to be a natural death, Long Beach Police Department spokeswoman Marlene Arrona said.
A coroner’s investigator found suspicious circumstances at the scene and Long Beach police homicide detectives were summoned to investigate, Arrona said.
The gender and age of the victim were not immediately available, Arrona said, but a woman in her 60s who described herself and the decedent’s neighbor told a news videographer at the scene that she was a woman about her age.
The investigation was continuing into the afternoon at the home, where police dogs and forensics investigators were on hand, the videographer said.
