The Foothill (210) Freeway was partially closed in both directions in San Dimas for some five hours Tuesday after a big rig struck a center divider, leaving the driver with a broken leg.

The impact of the westbound big rig damaged three sections of the center divider just east of North San Dimas Avenue around 1:40 a.m., the California Highway Patrol reported. A SigAlert was declared by the CHP at 2:20 a.m.

Debris from the center divider also struck another westbound vehicle, but that driver was not injured, CHP Officer Francisco Villalobos said.

The big rig appeared to have been speeding and swerving before it struck the center divider, according to the CHP, which reported that the tractor overturned but the trailer remained upright, and the driver got out of the vehicle.

The driver blamed the accident on someone cutting in front of him, NBC4 reported.

All east and westbound lanes were reopened at 7:24 a.m.

The cause of the crash remained under investigation.
