Authorities Friday were looking for suspects who robbed a man of about $750,000 worth of jewelry and about $5,000 in cash in the Pico-Robertson area.
The heist happened about 6:05 p.m. Thursday in a parking lot near Pico Boulevard and Shenandoah Street, Los Angeles Police Officer Drake Madison said.
The man was robbed as he was taking items out of the trunk of his car.
LAPD Sgt. Guillermo Valdez told a videographer that the man had a bag over his shoulder that contained about $5,000 in currency, and another bag — similar to carry-on luggage — that contained “about $750,000 worth of miscellaneous jewelry.”
Two men grabbed the bags and punched the man, then ran to a waiting vehicle.
