Medina was taken to a hospital, where he was in critical but stable condition, police said.
Detectives are hoping that someone at the heavily trafficked intersection saw something that could help investigators identify Medina’s attacker.
Anyone with information on the beating was urged to call investigators with the LAPD’s West Bureau Homicide Division at (213) 382-9470.
Weekend and after-hours calls can be directed to (877) LAPD-24-7 and anonymous tips can be provided by calling Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
