Police and volunteers searched Wednesday for a missing 12-year-old girl from North Hills.

Donyetta Butts was last seen around 9:55 p.m. Tuesday, when she left her family’s room at the Hometown Inn in the 9400 block of Sepulveda Boulevard to take a soiled diaper to a trash bin in an external hallway, a Los Angeles Police Department officer said.

She was reported missing around two hours later, the officer said.

Donyetta is black, 5 feet 5, about 135 pounds, and has long, burgundy- black braided hair. She was wearing a pink shirt, white spandex shorts with black leggings and no shoes, the officer said.

Donyetta takes medication for PTSD but did not have it with her, he said.

Five units from the LAPD’s Mission Division were searching for the girl, along with volunteers with tracker dogs, the officer said.

Anyone with information on the case was urged to call LAPD Detective L. Saiza at (213) 996-1800, or (877) LAPD-247.
