Police have served six search warrants and made 14 arrests in an effort to crack down on members of a North Long Beach street gang, officials said Friday.

The warrants were served Wednesday, and resulted in the arrests of Gaviel Mayorga, 33, and Clark Cooper, 31, on felony possession of stolen property charges and Steve Orozco, 23, on a parole violation, police said. All three are from Long Beach.

About $35,000 worth of stolen property believed tied to cargo truck thefts in and outside of Long Beach was recovered, along with $4,300 in cash, police said.

The cash was thought taken in a North Long Beach burglary related to Cooper and Mayorga, according to police.

The North Patrol Division Directed Enforcement Team arrested 11 other people since May suspected of violating a court order against membership in the street gang, outstanding warrants and other offenses, police said.
