
A pedestrian was struck and killed by a Metrolink train in Pacoima Monday, authorities said.
Paramedics sent to the 13200 block of Van Nuys Boulevard at 7:07 a.m. pronounced the person dead at the scene, said Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The fatally injured person was described only as a male, according to the coroner’s office.
According to Metrolink, the train, Antelope Valley Line 201, was en route to Lancaster.
Trains en route to Los Angeles will hold in Newhall, trains bound for Lancaster will hold at Sun Valley, and alternate transportation was being arranged, according to Metrolink.
