Two suspects, a male and a female, approached the victim in a parking lot and without provocation threw the chemical at the woman and fled the scene before police arrived, police said.
The woman ran into a bathroom to wash the substance from her arm while someone else called police, according to Ellis.
She suffered moderate burns to her arms and was taken to a hospital where she was being treated, police said.
Detailed descriptions of the suspects were not made available. The female had a pony tail and both fled in a blue or gray sedan, police said.
Investigators were checking for possible video at nearby businesses and interviewing witnesses in an attempt to identify the culprits, Ellis said.
