Authorities Monday identified a man who was fatally wounded in a vehicle-to-vehicle shooting on the Harbor (110) Freeway in South Los Angeles.

The shooting happened on the southbound Harbor Freeway around Slauson Avenue around 8:40 p.m. Sunday, said Officer Drake Madison of  the Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations unit.

After the shooting, the vehicle exited the freeway and stopped in the 400 block of West Florence Avenue. Jerrod Hall, 48, of Los Angeles was pronounced dead at that location, said coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter.

Hall had been shot three times by a suspect in an unknown vehicle, Madison said.

Traffic was stopped on the southbound Harbor Freeway between Slauson and Florence avenues as part of the investigation, according to the California Highway Patrol.
