A man in his 50s is suspected of kissing a 16-year- old girl on the cheek in Montebello on Wednesday and later offering a 12-year-old girl money.
The suspect kissed a 16-year-old girl and further annoyed her as she waited for a bus at Montebello and Whittier boulevards at approximately 1 p.m., said Detective F. Valle of the Montebello Police Department.
The teenager got onto the bus and the suspect walked away in an unknown direction, Valle said.
The suspect spoke with a 12-year-old girl and offered her money at a liquor store at Third Street and Whittier Boulevard at approximately 3:30 p.m. She became scared and ran from the location to her home and told her mother about the incident, Valle said.
The suspect was last seen in the 200 block of South Second Street. Police investigators were able to obtain a picture of the suspect from the liquor store surveillance cameras, Valle said.
The suspect was described as a Latino man in his 50s with dark hair. He was wearing black-framed glasses, a red soccer jersey and beige pants and had a black backpack or shoulder bag.
Anyone with any information regarding the suspect was asked to call Valle at (323) 887-1200, ext. 255.
