Police said Wednesday’s shooting was apparently the continuation of a gang rivalry that has been raging in the South Los Angeles area in recent weeks.
Los Angeles police Lt. John Jenal told KTLA several weapons were recovered at the scene of the shooting. He said there was an exchange of gunfire between two groups of people, and multiple suspects fled the scene. Some suspects who were in a vehicle fleeing the area got into a traffic crash and were being detained to determine if they had any role in the gunfire, Jenal told the station.
