Firefighters Saturday battled a brush fire that scorched about 35 acres near Lancaster.

No injuries were reported as a result of the blaze, which was reported about 12:15 p.m. in the area of 120th Street West and West Avenue J, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

At about 2:30 p.m., a dispatcher said that firefighters had gotten a handle on the fire, which burned near the California Aqueduct and didn’t threaten any structures.

“They pretty much have it stopped at the aqueduct,” dispatcher Melanie Flores said.

Firefighters were putting out hot spots and mopping up, she said.

The fire was fought from the ground and air, Flores said.
