A roving DUI saturation patrol in El Monte netted four drunk driving arrests, a police sergeant said Monday.
The patrol occurred on Sunday, when police officers stopped 35 drivers and two motorists had a breath test alcohol content of more than double the legal limit, which is .08 percent in California, said El Monte Police Sgt. Jimmie Pitts.
“One driver admitted to officers that he was drinking at a local bar and was told by other patrons that he should get a ride home,” Pitts said. “The driver said he thought he was fine, so he declined offers for a ride home and was later arrested for DUI.”
