Authorities Thursday sought a man suspected of seriously injuring his girlfriend at a residence in unincorporated Westmont.
Deputies went to the 10600 block of Wilton Place about 10 p.m. Wednesday on a report of domestic violence, Deputy Sara Rodriguez of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau said.
“When the deputies arrived, they found a 44-year-old woman outside the location suffering from injuries to her head and arm,” Rodriguez said.
“The neighbors told the deputies the suspect, the victim’s boyfriend, had run back inside the residence,” Rodriguez said.
Deputies tried to get the man to come outside, but he did not respond, Rodriguez said. A Special Weapons Team was sent to the scene and entered the residence about 5:30 a.m., but the man was gone, Rodriguez said.
The woman was taken to a hospital in serious condition. Anyone with more information on the crime was urged to call the sheriff’s South Los Angeles Station at (323) 820-6700, or Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
