
An arriving United Airlines flight and a departing Alaskan Airlines plane clipped each other while on the ground at Los Angeles International Airport , an airport official said.
It happened about 7:50 p.m., Sunday as both aircraft were maneuvering in an alleyway between terminals six and seven, according to LAX Public Relations Director Nancy Castles.
United Airlines flight 1199 had arrived from Newark, New Jersey, and was carrying 169 passengers aboard as well as six crew members, Castles said.
Alaskan flight 543 had 182 passengers on board and six crew members, she said. It was scheduled to fly to Portland, Ore.
The Alaskan flight sustained damage to its left winglet and the United flight right horizontal stabilizer was damaged, Castles said.
All passengers safely disembarked from each flight, she said.
