A man who stabbed a nurse at Olive View-UCLA Medical Center on Easter Sunday last year admitted his guilt Monday and was sentenced to 15 years and 8 months in prison.
Ramiro Carnalla, 27, pleaded no contest to attempted murder, two counts of battery and one count of resisting arrest.
Carnalla called 911 on his cell phone from outside the medical center and claimed to have a weapon. When police arrived, he went inside and stabbed the nurse several times, authorities said.
Carnalla, who also has a 2012 assault conviction on his record, has remained jailed since his arrest.
