A woman’s body was found at a homeless camp in Pomona, a police detective said Tuesday. The coroner’s office estimated the woman had been dead for several weeks, said Detective Sgt. Marcus Perez of the Pomona Police Department.

A security officer at a park-and-ride lot at Gillette Avenue and Fairplex Drive called police about 8 a.m. Monday to report that a body had been found in an adjacent vacant field frequented by transients, Perez said.

Officers sent to the scene said the body bore no obvious signs of foul play, he said.

Pomona police detectives asked anyone with any information regarding the woman, who was not immediately identified, or her death to call them at (909) 620-2085.
