Police determined that an assault might have occurred at a residence in the 500 block of North Sixth Street, where they saw some evidence outside the home and in the surrounding area, he said.
“An adult male from the residence was detained and brought to the Montebello Police Department for further investigation,” Zabala said. “Investigators believe that this crime was not random and the victim and suspect know each other.”
Zabala said the 500 block of North Sixth Street will be temporarily closed to traffic until further investigation.
Montebello Police detectives asked anyone who was in the area around 1:30 a.m. to call them at (323) 887-1313.
