Officers arrested an armed parolee who was wearing a ballistic vest while walking down a residential street in Pomona, according to police.

Officers were originally dispatched at 12:28 p.m. on Saturday to the 1400 block of Edgehill Street on a report of a suspect who was armed and on the roof of a home, according to a news statement from Pomona Police Department.

When officers arrived they saw Nathan Daniel Ware, 31, walking down the street wearing the body armor and armed with a 9mm handgun, according to the news statement. Ware was arrested and charged with violation of parole, felon in possession of a firearm and possession of body armor.

He was transferred at 3:58 a.m. to the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in downtown Los Angeles, according to the sheriff’s Inmate Information Center. He is awaiting a court date on Tuesday at Department A of the Pomona Superior Court.
