Three teens were in custody after a wild police chase in Pacoima that ended with a crash into an 83-year-old’s Mercedes-Benz.
Only minor injuries were suffered by everyone involved, but a police officer said it “could have been much worse.”
A possibly stolen pickup being chased by police crashed into a car and ended up in the yard of a house in the Pacoima area, and the driver and two passengers were detained.
The crash happened at Laurel Canyon Boulevard and Kelowna Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The pickup truck was being chased Friday by officers from the LAPD’s Foothill Station when it crashed into a Mercedes-Benz at the intersection and then skidded through a fence and into the yard of a house, coming to rest against the structure.
The three occupants of the truck — two 18-year-old men and a 15-year- old girl — tried to run away, but were quickly taken into custody. They suffered minor injuries, as did the 83-year-old driver of the Mercedes, police said.
“This could have been much worse,” LAPD Capt. Ernie Eskridge told ABC7.
The name of the motorist in the Mercedes=-Benz was not immediately released.
