Four men were arrested in a daylong sting operation in Compton on suspicion of misdemeanor soliciting prostitution, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said Friday.

Thursday’s operation was coordinated by the department’s Major Crimes Bureau’s Human Exploitation and Trafficking Task Force. The sheriff’s Compton Station requested the deployment of the task force in response to “numerous prostitution complaints in the area,” a department statement said.

A girl who had been reported missing from Orange County was rescued during the operation, according to the Sheriff’s Information Bureau, and three cars were towed due to invalid or suspended licenses.

The four solicitation arrests resulted from female deputies going undercover and posing as prostitutes, the statement said.
