A person was shot and killed in Montebello on Monday by a suspect or suspects who fired an assault rifle, authorities said.
The homicide occurred in the area of 1634 Neil Armstrong St., according to Montebello police.
The homicide was reported at 6:45 p.m., said sheriff’s Sgt. J. Tonce of the Temple Station.
“An assault rifle was fired and they’re looking for a suspect or suspects,” Tonce said.
There was no suspect description, Tonce said.
Montebello police advised residents who live in the area at or near 1610, 1620, 1630 and 1634 Neil Armstrong Street to stay inside their homes as officers search the area. Everyone else is being advised to stay out of the area.
