A firefighter suffered a hand injury Saturday when he fell approximately 20 feet through the roof of a single-story commercial building in Sylmar.

Paramedics rushed the firefighter, listed in fair to serious condition, to an area hospital, said Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department. He was not burned during the fire.

Firefighters dispatched at 11:08 a.m. to 15513 Cobalt St. had the fire out within 22 minutes of their arrival, Scott said.
