A person pushing a shopping cart across the street was struck and killed Sunday by a hit-and-run motorist in the Lennox community of unincorporated Los Angeles County.
The crash in the area of Lennox Boulevard and Eastwood Avenue was reported to the California Highway Patrol at 9:50 a.m., according to the CHP’s Traffic Incident Information Page.
The vehicle involved in the crash was described as a black Honda or Acura.
A representative from the coroner’s office was called to the scene at 10:17 a.m.
A SigAlert was issued at 10:41 a.m. closing all lanes of traffic on Lennox Boulevard, between Eastwood and Freeman avenues. At 1:51 p.m., the CHP announced that the lanes were re-opened.
