A man was stabbed in the stomach early Monday morning when he got into a dispute with another man while drinking at a bar near Leimert Park, police said.
The stabbing was reported at 4105 Fourth Avenue around 1 a.m., said Lt. Scot Williams of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Southwest Station.

“Two guys were drinking together and they got into a verbal dispute,” Williams said. “One guy pulled out a folding knife and stabbed the other guy in the upper stomach. I don’t think he even realized he was stabbed at first. He thought he was punched in the stomach.”
The knife had a three-inch blade. The assailant fled, and the victim was taken to a hospital, where his vital signs were stable, Williams said.
