A motorcyclist suffered major injuries Monday night when the bike he was operating collided with a pickup truck on the eastbound Gardena (91) Freeway in Long Beach, authorities said.
The crash was reported at 7:23 p.m. near Long Beach Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP reported that the victim suffered major injuries and Brian Fisk of the Long Beach Fire Department said he was a man in his 30s who was in critical condition when taken to a hospital.
The CHP earlier reported that one person was confirmed dead, but later said the victim had not died.
A coroner’s lieutenant said about 9 p.m. that no such traffic fatality had been reported to his office.
