A threatening note that a student found in a textbook prompted the lockdown of a Hacienda Heights high school for several hours Monday.
Administrators at Glen A. Wilson High School at 16455 E. Wedgeworth Drive learned of the note, which warned of a possible lunchtime shooting, about 9:20 a.m., according to the Hacienda La Puente Unified School District.
The sheriff’s department and parents were notified and students were held in place until deputies searched the campus.
“At around 1:50 (p.m.) today, the lockdown that had been in place at Wilson High School was lifted,” according to a district statement. “After a thorough search of the campus, it was determined that the students and faculty were safe and that there was no threat to the campus.”
