A fire damaged a two-story, single-family home in an unincorporated area near Whittier on Wednesday night and arson investigators were summoned to help determine the cause of the non-injury blaze, authorities said.
Firefighters took 15 minutes to knock down the fire, which was reported about 6:30 p.m. in the 15800 block of Ocean Avenue, said Michael Pittman, supervising dispatcher with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
Flames could be seen coming from windows on both floors of the home, a witness said.
