The man, in his 30s, was found about 2 a.m. hanging in his cell at the facility in the 7600 block of South Broadway, said coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter.
His name was withheld, pending notification of his relatives.
Los Angeles airport police had arrested the man, who was taken to the jail for booking, according to the LAPD. It was not immediately known why he was taken into custody.
