A fire broke out in a first-floor unit of a two-story apartment building in Baldwin Hills on Wednesday.
The fire was reported at 6:20 p.m. at 3942 Stevely Ave., according to Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Thirty-one firefighters responded and knocked down the blaze in 10 minutes, confining the flames to the apartment where the fire broke out, Humphrey said.
Three people, including at least one child, were assessed at the scene for possible smoke exposure, Humphrey said.
It’s unclear if any of them were taken to a hospital.
