A Burbank resident gunned down in his driveway Wednesday was hospitalized with serious injuries, along with a gardener who was shot in the foot by the same gunman, who drove away from the crime scene in a silver car.
Officers were sent to a residence in the 1700 block of North Catalina Street about 7:20 a.m. on a shots-fired report, according to Burbank police Sgt. Claudio Losacco.
“Upon arrival officers found the resident, a 67-year-old male, lying in his driveway, having suffered multiple wounds as a result of gunfire,” Losacco said. “The most significant of the wounds were to his abdomen.”
The man was taken to a hospital for surgery and was listed in serious condition, Losacco said.
“A second victim, a 33-year-old gardener working nearby, was … found to have been shot in the foot,” Losacco said. That man was taken to a hospital and was in stable condition.
The suspect, a man in his 20s with dark hair, drove away in a silver four-door sedan, Losacco said.
Anyone with information on the crime was urged to call Detective Jamal Childs at (818) 238-3210.
