Police Thursday arrested two suspects who barricaded themselves in an apartment in the Westlake district after officers tried to serve a warrant, authorities reported.
The attempt by officers from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Olympic Division to serve the warrant took place around 4:55 a.m. in the 2600 block of San Marino Street, LAPD spokeswoman Officer Liliana Preciado said.
An LAPD SWAT unit was sent to the scene, and residents in nearby apartments were evacuated as a precaution. The men surrendered about two hours later, police said. Their names was not immediately released.
The service of the warrant was part of an operation to serve a number of warrants overnight, police said.
