
One man was killed and three others critically injured Friday morning when two cars crashed at an intersection in Lakewood, authorities said.
The crash at the intersection of Del Amo Boulevard and Clark Avenue, on the border with Long Beach, was reported at 12:30 a.m., according to Sheriff’s Sgt. Mat Taylor, who said the man died at the scene. His name was withheld pending family notification.
Three others were treated at the scene and transported to hospitals in critical condition, Taylor added.
The man who was killed was ejected from his car, a news photographer reported from the scene. There was no word of whether the victim had been wearing a seat belt.
The crash was under investigation by the Lakewood sheriff’s station. Anyone with information on the collision was asked to call the Lakewood station at (562) 623-3500. All tips can be made anonymously.
