A busted water main flooded the intersection of Monterey Street and Flower Avenue in Torrance on Sunday morning and opened a large sinkhole that partially swallowed a vehicle.

Torrance Police said said this was the second sinkhole in the same vicinity in recent weeks.

The rupture was reported at 1:49 a.m. and expected to keep roads leading into the Monterey and Flower intersection closed until further notice, according to Torrance police.

It was unclear whether anyone in the vehicle was injured. A videographer at the scene described it as a dark sedan.
