A fire that broke out Tuesday at an apartment complex for seniors forced the evacuation of 40 to 50 residents, but no one was hurt.
The blaze broke out on the first floor of a four-story apartment building in the 9100 block of Garvey Avenue at 8:57 a.m. and was extinguished at 9:27 a.m., said county fire department spokesman Humberto Agurcia.
Residents were evacuation as a precaution because of the smoke, Agurcia said.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
