A 15-year-old boy suffered a minor burn injury and a dog was killed in a house fire Sunday in North Hills.

Firefighters dispatched at 6:19 a.m. to the single-story home in the 15900 block of West Gresham Street had the fire out within 21 minutes of their arrival, said Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The family’s smoke alarm woke the mother, who safely got the occupants out of the home, Stewart said. Eight people were displaced as a result of the fire.

Paramedics rushed the 15-year-old boy to an area hospital where he is in fair condition, she said.
