A 23-year-old man was shot and killed by an unknown assailant in Palmdale, authorities said Sunday.
He was found at 8:49 p.m. Saturday in the 2400 block of East Avenue R-4, according to sheriff’s Deputy Mike Barraza.
The man was walking along East Avenue R-4 when he was shot, Barraza said in a prepared statement, but managed to run a short distance before collapsing.
He was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, Barraza said.
Several witnesses said they heard the gunshots, but no suspect information was available. Anyone with information was asked to call the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.
