Firefighters sent to the 300 block of North Avenue 52 shortly after 1 p..m. used a jack to quickly free the man, Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department said.
He was in fair condition when taken to a hospital for treatment of nonlife-threatening injuries, Stewart said.
