Stephen Justin Gonzales was found guilty of first-degree murder in the slaying of Vanhxay Inthichack, 26, of Baldwin Park, who was found dead on Sept. 9, 2013, in the 13900 block of Francisquito Avenue.
The coroner’s office listed Inthichack’s cause of death as multiple injuries.
Along with the murder charge, jurors convicted the defendant of petty theft, but rejected a special circumstance allegation of murder during the commission of a robbery, according to Sarah Ardalani of the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
Gonzales is facing 25 years to life in state prison, with sentencing set for Feb. 11 at the Pomona courthouse, according to Ardalani.
